SWCS is a unique human service agency developed by Widener
University's Center for Social Work Education in collaboration with the
Chester Education Foundation in 2000. SWCS is staffed primarily by
undergraduate and graduate student interns from Widener’s Center for
Social Work Education and the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology.
Our mission is to:

  • Provide quality social work and psychological services to community
    residents

  • Strengthen the capacity of non-profit community organizations to
    deliver efficient and effective human services to their clients

  • Provide cutting edge clinical training to undergraduate and
    graduate students in social work and clinical psychology.

SWCS interns are assigned to a service teams.  Currently, we have interns on the following teams: Clinical ServicesCircle for Change Program, and C-CATS Program,
